The Char Griller Duo is such a versatile grill because it gives you the choice of cooking with either charcoal or gas separately or both at the same time. It’s main grilling area is huge, 876 square inches, but luckily it comes in two full sized easily removable cooking grates, one for each side.
The cooking grates of the Char Griller Duo are made of solid cast iron and because cast iron holds heat well, it makes is so easy to get caramelization and grill marks on your food. And, because the grates are porcelain-coated, it spreads the heat evenly which cooks all your food evenly too.
As the Char Griller Duo also has a gas side burner (useful for heating up things like sauces or stews) this multi-functional grill provides the means to cook for either a large crowd or just for the two of you and you get to cook everything outside. No more running back to the kitchen to fry onions for your burgers, do it on the Duo.
Features of the Char Griller Duo:
- Charcoal and gas grill combo with 1260 square inches of cooking space
- 40,800-BTU gas grill with electronic ignition and 3 burners; 12,000-BTU side burner
- Adjustable grate height for temperature control; chrome-plated warming rack
- Stainless-steel heat gauge; cast-iron grates; easy-dump ash pan
- Measures 60 by 25 by 50 inches; 1-year limited warranty
Because the Char Griller Duo is made of sturdy steel construction, it will provide you with years of use. This grill does tend to rust so a good rubbing of vegetable oil every few months and a grill cover should help with this. The Duo has large wheels that help in terms of moving it around but be aware that this is one heavy model weighing in at around 160 pounds!
Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Char Griller Duo:
This grill is as powerful as it is industrial in size. It has a large surface area capable of cooking for a medium sized platoon. I have succesfully convinced my colleagues in the restaurant business to acquire this grill and they have never looked back. (H Miller)
